4 years ago, I came to Japan on a tourist visa for 3 months to look for a job. During that time I stayed at a Social Apartment.

As someone who has been born and raised in America, I am always worried about leaving my belongings with other people. I could never stay at a share house or a hostel.

However, I found out that Japan has a hybrid apartment called a Social Apartment.

It is very similar to a share house but you have your own room.

This means that nobody will touch your personal belongings besides possibly your food and your clothes.

Share House Similarities

Social apartments share everything except your bed rooms. This means that you will be sharing the restroom, laundry, kitchen, and public areas like the playrooms.

Benefits

As a foreigner, its tough meeting new people in Japan unless you are going to school or you are working here. Social Apartments are a great way to practice…
