The Best Illumination Photospot in Japan
One of the largest and undoubtedly one of the best illumination parks for illumination (city lights) in Japan is Ashikaga Flower Park (足利フラワーパーク) located in Tochigi Prefecture. If you take the train from Tokyo, it will take you slightly longer than 2 hours and costs 2,000 yen to 4,000. To enter the park, it costs about 1000 yen and changes depending on the season. The illumination costs the most but if you go during the summer or spring then you can see a variety of flowers but no illuminations. During winter, you can enter the park at 15:30 but the illumination started at 16:30 and you can take photos until 20:00. It will take you at least one hour to rush through everything without taking any photos. Also, pets are not allowed at this park. They have an English map but the Japanese map looks like the one below. (Winter 2020 Map)
※Amazing photos that you can take examples are at the bottom of this article in case you just wanted to see them.
Probably my most favorite area was number 20 on the top right of the map which says 光のバラ園 which is Rose Garden Illumination in English and it is where I took the photo below.
