Sapporo Snow Festival
The snow festival in Sapporo was a truly artistic and one in a life time experience. It was mostly due to the fact that I’ve never experienced that much snow before being born and raised in Hawaii. The only time I had experienced snow in my whole life was when I studied abroad in Tokyo for a year a couple years ago.
Traveling to Sapporo
I took a night bus to Akita to visit some of my friends before coming to Sapporo but apparently I went a day early. This is very IMPORTANT information that you may want to remember when traveling to Japan. The reason why I went a day early was because my ticket said February 2nd at 24:15. I figured that the night bus would be on February 2nd because I felt that it is not possible to include a whole day in the hours. I also double checked with two of my Japanese friends who both said that the bus leaves on February 2nd. However, we were all mistaken and the night bus date was actually February 3rd at 0:15am. Logically speaking though, if you can keep a whole day in the hours then why not keep a whole week or month? You can say lets meet up today at 72:00. This is something that you should keep aware of because I almost missed my trip. Luckily I planned an extra day in Akita which turned to only a few hours.
