Japanese Pizza
You can find your typical American pizza brands in Japan like Pizza Hut, Dominos Pizza, and even some slightly fancier pizza restaurants like California Pizza Kitchen.
Unfortunately due to the lack of demand in pizza and the Japanese love for variety, pizza can be very pricey in Japan. An American-sized small pizza in Japan is technically a medium and can range from 15–20 dollars. Also, all pizzas are cooked in a regular pizza oven and not a brick oven.
Variety
Pizza fast food restaurants usually have over 20 types of pizzas including, most popular flavors like bulgogi, teriyaki chicken, mentaiko, shrimp, and of course pepperoni. As long as the pizza costs the same, you can usually get half and half for free from any fast food like pizza hut, pizza-la, and dominos.
Taste
As an American, I have to say that Japanese pizza is pretty good. There is a slight difference from American pizza and it doesn’t uses that much oil. However, the Japanese pizza fast food chain Pizza-la uses a lot of oil. If you enjoy your pizza like this, I highly recommend trying Pizza-la at least once.
